I Heart Brian!

I love Brian. He's my hero. He's the best husband ever. Every day, he does special little things to make my life easier. He always cleans the kitchen after dinner (which he does better than I can do) Come to think of it, he usually does everything much better than I can. This guy can bake, cook, sew, clean, hack a computer, lay any kind of flooring, install a water heater, disarm a nuclear warhead. . . there is a reason he has earned the nickname "Jason Bourne". Somehow he has learned to do EVERYTHING and I have no idea how.
Most of all, he loves me.

Ah Pickles!

Which illustrious ancestor do we have to thank for the DNA of this lovely gem?
Today, I heard him say to himself, "Ah, Pickles!"

This is Briggs

This is my Briggs. He is the sweetest kids ever. He can entertain himself like this on the floor better than any of the other kids.

This is his signature hat. If he is not wearing this hat, he is wearing his yellow baseball cap. I just love how classic he looks in this. He wears it so naturally, too, like an extra skin.

He's always the kid at school to make friends with the bully or charm the girls. And He's always good for a snuggle.

Grandma Neola

To commemorate Mother's Day, I thought I would post this picture of my Grandma Neola and Grandpa Ivo. These are my dad's parents. As a child I called my Grandma "Gramma Ola". She could cook and bake just like a good farmers wife should. I remember the smell of homemade bread in her kitchen and can still taste the real butter we would spread on it that came from a pink butter dish. Grandma and Grandpa lived on a beef and dairy ranch in Northern California that was a child's wonderland. At least for me. I have so many fond memories of roaming free on that ranch with my sisters and my cousins. There was always something to explore and discover.
I remember discovering my grandmothers Beehive book of remembrance once. In it, she had a lock of her hair from when she was young. I remember feeling a very special connection with Grandma because her hair was the same auburn /brown that mine was (although hers was platinum blond as a child).
Grandma was no nonsense, but she was a loving grandma. Happy mother's day!

Zions Canyon

Here we all are in Zions Canyon at the weeping rock waterfall. It was a perfect little hike for our kids. Once again, the signature move.

4 Wheelin'

We got to go 4 wheeling around Lisa and Johns neighborhood in Hurricane. The Hickens, old Rober family friends, brought their vehicles and all of the kids got a turn. That is the cutest little 12 year old girl, Melanie, in a skirt giving Briggs a ride. Her and her cousin were our awsome babysitters while we were there.

Little Hole

Briggs

Ty

Yes. We must all crawl out of a little hole in the rock. Ty was the only one smart enough to come out head first. I had to turn away. It brought back to many memories for me.
