I love fabric!

I've finally given in to my love of fabric and I'm trying to teach myself how to quilt. I've picked up a few tips or two from here and there (my older sister is a beautiful quilter and is a wealth of knowledge) so i'm just experimenting. I got a jellyroll of some Moda fabric that I fell in love with and couldn't wait to get going. Here is my messy sewing room/guest room and what I have so far.

Ashlynn practicing her finger positioning.
Briggs with his team, the TIGERS! They didn't have a whole lot of enthusiasm during the first game.
Here is another project that I finished for a friend's new baby ( the quilt. not the brown eyed baby). But that makes me think of a quote I recently saw. "I love to give handmade gifts. Which one of my children would you like."

I have a new love for quilts, too. The fabric you have going on is lovely! Can't wait to see the finished product.

I'd like to learn how to quilt someday. Maybe eventually when I have a craft room or kids that aren't reaching on the table trying to pull everything off when I'm not looking. Last week Alina ran around the house unraveling a spool of thread. So for now, I have to stick to quit projects that I can put away at the end of each day.

As per our conversation the other day, I really think you did suck all the creativity out of the gene pool before I got here. Those are so neat! Great job!

the quilt looks great! it is exciting to try something new and have something tangible to show for it when you are done! i would really like to try our hand at those poofy petticoats you mentioned! it would be fun!

Funny I really want to learn to quilt to. We have a lot of really elderly lonely ladies in our ward and I figure we could both benefit from some sewing time. First I need to buy a machine though!

I love the quote...and the quilt! BTW, I'd take any one of the kids, but you have to take one of mine in return!
