Lake Cavanaugh, Washington

Our wonderful vacation with Brian's family. They have a beautiful house right on the Lake. It was blue skies, green grass, pebbled beach and refreshing cool lake, right in our front yard! Thanks, Linda,Denny, Larry and Caroline for inviting us!

Dinner on the beach whenever the sun was out...

The mountains at the end of the lake...

As modeled by the cousins, the view from the front deck.

More on the lake to come!

What Ty said in the early hours of the morning

The kids frequently come into our room in the early hours of the morning with minor emergencies - nightmare's, leg cramps, can't find their blankies. But this one from Ty takes the cake.

"My mouth tastes like cat food."

In other news:
Apparently last night I "woke" up and asked Brian if their was a kid in our bedroom (as they often sneak in unnoticed until they are 2 inches from my face, where they then make themselves known, much to my heart's dismay...)

Brian told me there wasn't.

And then I responded with, "I don't believe you. You are a liar."

I have no recollection of this conversation... OBVIOUSLY!

The best video's are those starring Ty!

Untitled from Kate Rober on Vimeo.

Re-purposing at it's finest!

Have I mentioned Ashlynn is a craft Diva?

I saved this beastly excuse for apple packaging from Costco specifically for Ash's crafting purposes.

A handful of cute Japanese erasers, a box of Benderoo's (The kids actually had a blast with these infomercial toys that I thought they would over in about 30 seconds...) a little bit of 100% pute Ashlynn crafting genious and, VOILA!
An animal habitat to make even Martha swoon! (... well, maybe I'm a bit biased)

She came up with this all on her own.

Each bubble is a room for her critters. The letters on top are the animals' initials. Each room is custom decorated for that animals needs. I.E. the whale has a blue pond to swim in, The pink hamster has a pink jeweled chandelier, the panda bear has a platform made out of bamboo..

Respect the Mom...

So it's been a busy work week and slow house week around here. Kate took the kids up north to her parents this week where they have been playing hard and having fun. I'll admit, it's a bit too quiet around here. The nuclear energy that is usually oozes from our walls has come to a halt these last few days, and it's missed. Phone calls have confirmed nothing but excitement on the northern front. Props to Kate, to all of her fun ideas, thoughts and love she shares with the kids. I thought I'd throw a shout out to one of her greatest tools... the van.
