One warm afternoon we decided to venture out to the train museum in Old Sacramento.
It was pretty hot.
That makes the kids tired. And only a little cranky
Trying to teach Ty how to ride a 2-wheeler. Not much success. He kind of just sits back and relaxes while we do all of the work.

The Capitol
I took the kids for a tour of the State Capitol. They actually really liked it. Before we went, I found their website. They have a section just for kids. We played around on the site and learned a little about the capitol before we went for a visit. It really helped them appreciate the tour more. They were excited that they knew the answers to some of the tour guides questions.
The bear statue in front of the governors office. Arnold purchased this one.
I gave the camera to the kids and they took about 100 pictures of the building. I decided to share one with you.
It's hard to see in the pictures, but there is a bear carved into the wooden banister here. Ty is putting his finger in it's mouth pretending to be getting bitten by the bear.
There are a lot of great museums and historical sites around Sacramento. Some are free, some not, but this one was free. Not a bad day!
