Here are some of Ashlynn's latest installments:
"You raise a good argument, Dad" (to Brian about something he said)
"Maybe Ty just looks like a person on the outside but he's really a puppy on the inside" (about Ty being out of control-all-over-the-place).
"Now that's a problem." (stated out of the blue when she saw the crayon scribbled all over the computer screen by Ty.)
If any one's wondering - No. We can't control Ty. He is beyond us.
Briggs has recently started reading at an even higher rate than before. He is starting to sound out words with a high level of accuracyand recognizes most small words by sight. I borrowed some Level readers from Ashlynn's first grade class today just to gauge where he was with his reading. I started out with Level 1, which he breezed through, no problem. Just you give you something to compare this to - Ashlynn is currently at a Level 12 which places her second or third highest in her class. When she started 1st grade she was a Level 5/6. Briggs is probably at a Level 3/4 and he is still in Preschool.
If any one's wondering - Yes. I think it's healthy to brag about your children's intelligence. It's just so cliche and self-gratifying, I can't resist!

That comment about Ty being a puppy on the inside made me laugh out loud for the longest time! I think Ashlynn is secretly grateful that someone else has come along that's even more magnanimous than she is - some one even father out there! And I'm quite sure Ty doesn't mind filling that spot.
Wow, that's pretty amazing! Did you train them young? Read to them since they were little? What's your secret?
Very funny.
You can brag about my grandkids all you want, but mark my words, Ty will someday out shine both of them! Tou and B really did well!
I played "fetch" with Ty and his binkie today so I'm thinking Ashlynn wasn't too far off...
I LOVE IT! we defitnitly have children with same personalities! as for the genius thing, your kids are waaaay smarter than ours! so brag all you want, but by the way ryan got all straight A's. HA! Nate on the other hand has an IQ of a 10year old(he actually got tested, but THAT's a whole other story) AND STILL manages to get a few D's and one F on his report card, pretty sure he has the ty/puppy thing going on!
I always brag about Kam -- I think it's completely legal for moms, although for some reason Mark always tries to talk me down when I talk about how smart and cute he is. Like when I sent in Kam's picture to the Baby gap contest and was planning out my trip to san francisco for when he won (he didn't) -- I guess I might have been a little over-confident there.:) Anyway, I hope Kam turns out to be as smart and witty as your kids! ~Lisa
