Not only is this one of my favorite movies (I love Hitchcock), but I had the bizarre experience of Vertigo last night. NOT FUN! How can you be sound asleep, then get dizzy and feel like you are falling when you are laying down? Of course, then I got nauseaous. I had to lay really still until I fell asleep. Every turn of my head would bring on the crazy spinning sensation, even with my eyes closed. This morning I am doing ok, but please, Vertigo spirits, pass me by next time.
Have any of you experienced this? I know my sister and mom have, so I guess it's inevitable for me.

I have often gotten vertigo in conjunction with ear infections, which I have had my share of. Not fun! Being dizzy like that is a horrible feeling! Hope you are feeling better!
I used to experience that in high school all the time! Maybe it just runs in the family :)
I used to get it all the time when I was working. Only about once a year now. Usually when a cold or congestion is coming. It starts in the inner ear and I don't feel any other symptoms. I hate it worse than being pregnant! All I can say is - tkae some meclazine - over the counter and go to bed! Call in reinforcements for the kids and crawl if you must get out of bed. I'm so sorry you have to suffer through it.
Hope your feeling better!
You might not like this, but the only time virdigo got me was when I was first pregnant! Hope you feel better soon. I love you.
Your other sister gets it, too. Like everyone else said, usually when I'm starting to get an ENT bug.
A couple months ago, I tried flipping the direction I sleep in my bed. I slept with my head where my feet usually went (the sheets changed, with me, naturally, but the matress did not). When I woke up that first morning with my eyes closed, I thought I was positioned how I used to be. When I opened my eyes, the room literally spun slowly 180 degrees until I was correctly viewing the room the way it really was. Weird and funny!
Hope you're feeling better!
Oooh, that's no fun!! My mom and my sister have it, too. I've never gotten it though, knock on wood...
I have only gotten it once, and it seemed like the only thing that cured it was going to sleep. I think it was brought on by stress.
