I recently watched this movie and fell in love with it. Not only is it a fun modern fairy tale with great actors, but I LOVE the color palette and artwork in the movie. Christina Ricci's wardrobe is so coloful, yet classic. I covet her room and vow to decorate my house like it - starting with the terrariums. They actually reminded me of the fairy garden I just posted. In the movie they are bell or cloche jars with miniature plants decorated with little woodland people and creatures. I wish I could find an image of the terrariums from the movie, but here is an image from smith and hawkin just to give you an idea of what a terrarium is. If anyone can find the image from the movie, let me know. I also love the title lettering of the movie complete with flowers, vines and butterflies twisting around it ( this image does not show this). Heres the link to the movie: penelopethemovie.com
Let me know what you think.

Fairy Garden
I love this cute little fairy garden. It reminds me of the storybook ride at Disneyland. I have always loved little miniature gardening. I think this would look cute nestled in my garden somewhere.

How cute are these?
These are the handy crafts of my friend. She makes amazing stuff and takes beautiful pictures of her products (and has a really fun blog!) Check out her stuff here.

AHHHH!
Our computer is so messed up! Our files are all out of order! No wonder I've been procrastinating a post! (Brian this rant is in no way directed at you. It's not your fault the hard drive failed. loves.) I can't find pictures in the right place to post something proper, so here is a random picture I could find for today. The video link obviously didn't work, I don't know why. I don't really know how to fix that and Brian has too much on his plate.
So yesterday Ashlynn started making her birthday list. It is all rolled up a-la-Santa-Claus. That's right. It's a long one. Some of the items are:
digital camera
craft supplies
sewing supplies
her own pink sewing machine
a back pack
a lunch box
pink pearly mary jane crocs
jewelry making kit
a rock polishing kit
a pet turtle (yeah. right)
scrapbook stuff
light purple tapered candles
pink petticoat skirt. . .
just to name a few!

Just to tide you over
I've gotten a few nudges from family members to update the blog. I guess I took a little vacation. So until I have time to sit down and do a real post, here is a fun video of the kids when they were little.

Sorry!
I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a while. We have been gone for a month and our computer crashed. Even as I type this, I'm worried I will do something wrong and we will lose EVERYTHING! I'll be up and running as soon as I can. In the meantime I'm enjoying everyone elses blogs. I love being connected to my family and friends who are far away or even just around the corner!
